Grant Opportunities

Caroline County Opioid Restitution Fund

The Commissioners of Caroline County remain committed to addressing the impacts of the opioid epidemic within our community. As a result of multiple national legal settlements with opioid manufacturers and distributors, states and local governments are receiving designated funding to support opioid response efforts. These funds are distributed in varying amounts over many years and must be used exclusively for opioid mitigation and remediation.

For Fiscal Year 2027, the Commissioners are allocating $250,000 to support competitive grant funding opportunities for nonprofit organizations, county agencies, and county departments that provide opioid remediation, prevention, and support services to Caroline County residents. These are one-time funds that must be used between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027.

This is a competitive grant process. Some applications may not be funded, and others may receive partial funding depending on available resources and alignment with program goals. Eligible applicants include nonprofits that have operated in Caroline County for at least two years and are registered or otherwise authorized to conduct business in the State of Maryland. County agencies and departments are also eligible to apply.
