Responsibilities & Services

The Caroline County Office of Finance is responsible for the accounting of all County revenue and expenditures in accordance with general accepted accounting principles. Our office also provides information to the County Commissioners and County government departments to help facilitate resource allocation, decisions, assessment of services, and the County’s long-term financial planning.


Transparency

The Finance Office conducts its operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and strives to meet the highest standards of transparency and responsible financial practices. The Finance Office, together with the Tax Office, are responsible for Caroline County receiving the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers of Association for twelve consecutive years. This award is the highest honor local governments can receive for financial reporting.
