Municipal Parks
Long before the county established a Department of Recreation and Parks, local municipalities leveraged local resources with state grant funds to establish community and neighborhood park facilities. Although Department staff collaborates with town officials to assist with park project improvements and the funding proposal for grant funding sources, the management of these facilities are the responsibility of the respective towns. Management includes park reservation systems, general maintenance and rules and regulations for public use.

Other Park Facilities Under Non-Profit Management for Public Use
Caroline County also features park and open space facilities owned and managed by local non-profits and community service organizations. These facilities are available for public use, and reservations and maintenance operations are coordinated by an organization volunteer or staff member.
