Qualifications
To qualify for election as a County Commissioner you must:
  • Have been a resident of the county for at least one year
  • Be a registered and qualified voter of the county
  • Be at least 21 years of age
There is no specialized training or specific background necessary to be a County Commissioner. The most important qualities are dedication to your community, passion for public service, and the ability to devote the time necessary to hold office.

Election Information
The Board of County Commissioners are elected every four years, in non-presidential election years, and sworn in the first Tuesday in December. The next Commissioner election is November 6, 2018. The next Board of County Commissioners will be sworn in on December 4, 2018.
